Insurance

We accept two types of insurance for patients in our office: eyecare insurance and healthcare insurance.

Eye Care Insurance

Generally covers: routine eye examinations, eyeglasses and contact lenses

An example is Vision Service Plan (VSP)

The best way to know about your insurance and what it covers is to call the office. Many times, we can check online while you're on the phone and find out about your coverage.

We are providers for:

  • Vision Service Plan
  • EyeMed

These insurers also provide coverage under other names. Please call the office if you have vision insurance that is not listed. We can let you know if our office is a provider for that plan. If we are not a provider, just come in for your exam, pay our usual fees and we will provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurer or employer for reimbursement.

Medi-Cal and Nevada Medicaid

Due to the state budget problems, Medi-Cal and Nevada Medicaid no longer cover routine eye and vision care. These programs will cover some medical eye visits.

Health Insurance

Generally covers health related eye visits (infections, injuries, cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma); does not cover routine visits, glasses or contact lenses.

Examples: Medicare, BlueCross, HHP, St. Mary's Health Plan. Some of these insurers also contract with another company for vision care. Call the office and we'll find out what you are covered for.

Here is a summary of what Medicare covers
